The SUMMER ACADEMY YOUNG TITANS is a unique experience, where the world’s most promising young talents meet the leaders of our time. Unlike other events of its kind, this academy facilitates dialogue on equal footing between scholars and mentors in an exclusive yet informal atmosphere.
As a pro bono initiative, all SUMMER ACADEMY YOUNG TITANS mentors voluntarily dedicate their time to fostering our scholars’ development. With significantly more honorary mentors than scholars, the academy is unique throughout the world.
One-on-one sessions with top-class leaders and discussions in small groups ensure a personal and open exchange at both private and professional levels. By developing innovative approaches to the most pressing social issues alongside leading figures from all fields, our scholars are equipped with a responsible and strongly proactive concept of leadership that will allow them to create change on their own in the future.
The world needs leaders. People who question things, who have visions and who inspire others. The first step to becoming such a leader is to become aware of one’s personality, including one’s strengths as well one’s rough edges. Only then authentic and responsible leadership is possible. At the Summer Academy YOUNG TITANS young people meet completely different types of leaders, who all have found their own individual path in their professional and personal lives. But they have one thing in common: they are successful in what they do. They wish to encourage young people to do things in their own way. All mentors support the Summer Academy on a pro-bono basis.
The Summer Academy YOUNG TITANS considers itself to be an innovative, democratic, ideology-free platform, enabling dialog between international honorary mentors from all areas of society and students and young professionals.
While previous academies in 2013 and 2014 were limited to active or former top managers from the worlds of business and economy, in the recent years we expanded the leadership concept to include political, social, intellectual, cultural, media and spiritual leadership. We are convinced that we can only shape the future of our society in a sustainable and reasonable manner if we look beyond the economic sector to the entire reality of our society. Where do we want to go? What is most important to us? Besides the practical, immediate career-related topics, those questions are also discussed during the Summer Academy.

„Prodesse et Delectare“ is the motto of the Summer Academy. Besides the official formats used during the Summer Academy – keynotes, group sessions, panel discussions and one-on-one sessions – we explicitly attach great importance on having fun, i.e. during our annual Summer Academy Party. In addition, we pursue the philosophy of binding together the Summer Academy’s scholarship holders over the long-term. Our alumni activities like the YOUNG TITANS Day or our Flying Classrooms assure that links are maintained, and a valuable network is created.
Our scholars come from the world’s leading universities like Oxford, Harvard, MIT, LSE, Cambridge, Yale, or Science Po. More than 137 universities in 30 countries contribute to the academic excellence of our scholarship holders.
Besides their academic achievements, our scholars dedicate their time to promote social progress through holding multiple leadership roles in volunteering projects – among others as Members of the German Olympic Society’s Youth Committee, UN Youth Representatives, Founder of various social Start-Ups, Presidents of University Societies, and Student Parliaments as well as Honorary Mentors for pupil and fellow students.
Given their leadership potential as well as academic excellence, all our scholars have received various scholarships from all major German and international Scholarship Foundations as well as different private Foundations. Furthermore, they have been awarded multiple prizes including the Rotary Club University Award, the Young Women in Public Affairs Award, National Awards in ‘Jugend Musiziert’ (Youth Musicians) and ‘Jugend forscht’ (Youth Researches), Silver Medals from the International Conference of Young Scientists, Transatlantic Dialog Awards, Awards in the federal Philosophical Essay competition and many more.
The Summer Academy YOUNG TITANS offers you a unique experience. It is a pro bono initiative. Thanks to our sponsors you will receive a scholarship that covers the cost of the Summer Academy (apart from your travelling expenses) if your application is successful. The application period lasts from February until the end of March 2018 (Deadline: 31st of March, 23:59h).
This year the Summer Academy takes place from 5th to 7th July 2018 at the Oderberger Hotel in Berlin.
The Summer Academy YOUNG TITANS sees itself as an incubator for future young leaders and traditionally takes place in Berlin. Our scholars – high potentials from all over the world – meet, listen to and are coached by leading CEOs, executives, politicians and socialites.
“Why did I found the Summer Academy YOUNG TITANS? The answer is very simple: it’s a matter of the heart. As a young student, I participated in many summer academies of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation. These were fantastic. I am very grateful that I had the opportunity to make these experiences; and this sense of gratitude inspired me to establish the Summer Academy YOUNG TITANS. I wish to give young students and professionals from all backgrounds an opportunity to progress in life, to meet new friends and to have fun.”
